Yasa Group orders two 3,100-TEU containerships from a Chinese yard, with deliveries scheduled for 2028, marking a significant fleet expansion.
Turkish conglomerate Yasa Group has been revealed as the buyer behind two 3,100-TEU containership newbuildings at a Chinese yard, reported Singapore's Splash 247.
The vessels were ordered in late 2025 and will be delivered by Penglai Zhongbai Jinglu Ship Industry in August and October 2028. They are believed to be SDARI Sealion 3100 designs, with a deadweight of about 41,000 tons, a length of 199.90 metres, and a breadth of 35.30 metres.
Chinese-built tonnage of this size is currently estimated to cost around US$45 million, though no price guidance has been reported for the Yasa pair.
Yasa is not the first Turkish owner to enter this segment. Fellow group Ciner ordered a similar pair at New Dayang Shipyard in September 2025, with delivery scheduled for early 2028.
Alphaliner notes that some sources suggest Yasa has expanded its order to four vessels in this class, though this has not yet been confirmed.
