Transport Minister Uraloğlu confirms three Turkish vessels, including Ocean Thunder, have safely passed through the Strait of Hormuz amid ongoing tensions.

Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated, 'The Turkish-owned vessel named Ocean Thunder passed through the Strait of Hormuz last night. Thus, three vessels that had been waiting in the Gulf since the beginning of the war have safely departed the strait.'

Minister Uraloğlu shared an update on the current status of Turkish-owned vessels in the region via his account on NSosyal.

Uraloğlu reported that they are closely monitoring developments in the Strait of Hormuz as a ministry and that they are tracking Turkish-owned vessels and Turkish seafarers in real-time. He noted, 'As a result of the efforts we have conducted in cooperation with our Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Turkish-owned vessel Ocean Thunder, which was en route to transport crude oil loaded from Iraq to Malaysia, safely passed through the Strait of Hormuz last night and completed its exit from the Gulf. Thus, three vessels that had been waiting in the Gulf since the onset of the war have safely departed from the Strait of Hormuz. With this passage, the number of Turkish-owned vessels in the vicinity of the Strait of Hormuz has decreased to 12, and the number of vessels requesting to exit has dropped to 8.'

Uraloğlu indicated that they are continuously working to ensure the safe transit of 8 vessels currently wishing to leave the region and the 156 personnel on board these vessels. He emphasized that the ministry will continue to closely monitor Turkish-owned vessels and Turkish seafarers in the region in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant institutions.
