Arkas plans to enhance its fleet with 12 eco-design vessels by 2028, investing $660 million to strengthen Turkish maritime presence.

Arkas continues to strengthen its fleet with new generation vessels. The company plans to add 12 new generation eco-design container ships to its fleet by 2028, with a total investment of 660 million dollars.
The Sub-Panamax class vessels, being constructed at CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipyard in China, are designed to provide lower fuel consumption and higher operational efficiency.
With the delivery of the new vessels, it is anticipated that the Arkas fleet will reach 60 ships by 2028, with a total carrying capacity of 129,691 TEU.
TOP THREE IN PORT STATE CONTROL
Arkas achieved significant success in the latest assessment published by the international maritime data and analysis platform RISK4SEA. According to the performance of the last three years in Port State Control (PSC), the Arkas Fleet ranked third among over 200 ship operators evaluated worldwide, while it became the world leader in the Large Container category, which includes vessels ranging from 10,000 to 90,000 DWT.
SCORES WITH 80% PERFORMANCE
In the analysis based on PSC data from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2026, conducted by RISK4SEA, Arkas reached a performance score of 81% in the overall ranking through 273 inspections with its operated 50 ships, securing the third place globally.
In the Large Container category, it also ranked at the top with a high performance score after passing 285 inspections.

The results obtained not only highlight Arkas's operational success but also demonstrate the competence of Turkish seafarers at international standards. The performance shown by the ship crew, consisting of Turkish seafarers, in a high number of international inspections serves as a concrete indicator of technical knowledge, safety culture, and operational discipline. This success, combined with Arkas's strong position within the Turkish-flagged fleet, contributes to the reputation and visibility of Turkish shipping in the international arena.
