A Libyan delegation's private jet lost contact after leaving Ankara. Search efforts are ongoing near Haymana following a loud noise.
A private jet carrying a Libyan delegation took off from Ankara Esenboğa Airport but has since lost contact.
As a precaution, Esenboğa Airport has been closed to flights. The last signal from the aircraft was reportedly received near Polatlı, prompting search operations to locate the missing jet.
A loud noise was heard near the Haymana district, leading authorities to investigate the incident.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya addressed the situation on social media, stating, "At 20:10 this evening, a Falcon 50 business jet with tail number 9H-DFJ took off from Ankara Esenboğa Airport heading to Tripoli. Contact was lost at 20:52. An emergency landing notification was received from the aircraft near Haymana; however, contact could not be reestablished thereafter."
There are five passengers on board, including the Chief of General Staff of Libya, General Muhammad Ali Ahmed AL-Haddad.

Earlier today, Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler welcomed General Muhammad Ali Al-Haddad, who visited Turkey as a guest, with an official ceremony at the General Staff Headquarters.
