The Ministry of Trade raises the number of target export countries from 55 to 60 for 2026, boosting support for Turkish exporters.
The Ministry of Trade has announced an increase in the target number of export countries from 55 to 60 for the year 2026, marking a significant development for Turkish exporters.
For 2025, the target countries include Germany, the United States, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Algeria, the Czech Republic, the People's Republic of China, Indonesia, Ethiopia, Morocco, Ivory Coast, the Philippines, France, Ghana, the Republic of South Africa, South Korea, India, Iraq, Spain, Italy, Japan, Cambodia, Canada, Qatar, Kenya, Colombia, Kuwait, Libya, Malaysia, Mexico, Egypt, Nigeria, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Peru, Portugal, Romania, the Russian Federation, Senegal, Serbia, Saudi Arabia, Chile, Tanzania, Thailand, Tunisia, Oman, Jordan, Venezuela, and Vietnam. Newly added for 2026 are Palestine, Syria, Slovakia, Hungary, and North Macedonia.
Jak Eskinazi, Coordinator President of the Aegean Exporters' Associations, emphasized the importance of state support provided by the Ministry of Trade in 16 categories each year to enhance the competitiveness of Turkish exporters in the international market. This support includes assistance for overseas fairs, TURQUALITY, sectoral trade delegations, agriculture, URGE, domestic fair participation, market entry, unit rent, and e-export.
Target countries accounted for 73% of the Aegean Exporters' Associations' exports. Eskinazi noted that the Ministry of Trade offers an additional 20 points of support for participation in fairs and sectoral trade delegations aimed at target countries, with firms in target sectors receiving an extra 5 points of support. He stated, “In the 11-month period of 2025, the Aegean Exporters' Associations achieved an export volume of 16 billion 860 million dollars, of which 12 billion 250 million dollars, or 73%, was directed to target countries. We aim to maintain this trend in 2026.”
Eskinazi also revealed that the Ministry of Trade allocated 33 billion TL in its budget for state supports in 2025, which has been increased to 45 billion TL for 2026. He expressed the exporters' expectation that 1% of the foreign currency earned for Turkey should be channeled as support for exports.
In 2025, the Aegean Exporters' Associations signed agreements for 30 fairs and sectoral trade delegations. Eskinazi shared that they organized national participation in 17 fairs and conducted 13 sectoral trade delegations during the year.
