Kumport's container volume reached 831,200 TEUs in H1 2026, reflecting a 14.6% increase from the previous year.
Kumport reached 831,200 TEU in the first half: Growth at 14.6%
Kumport Container Terminal handled 831,200 TEU containers in the first six months of 2026. The terminal's growth compared to the same period last year was 14.6%.
According to the operational report published by COSCO SHIPPING Ports, Kumport handled 112,300 TEU in January, 147,400 TEU in February, 141,300 TEU in March, 137,600 TEU in April, 160,000 TEU in May, and 132,400 TEU in June. Thus, the total for the first half reached 831,200 TEU.
The handling in June increased by 4.3% compared to the same month last year, while the cumulative increase for the January-June period was 14.6%. The highest monthly volume of the first half was recorded in May with 160,000 TEU.
The figures pertain solely to Kumport Terminal. They should not be presented as the total container volume of all terminals in the Ambarlı Port Area or as Turkey's total container traffic. Similarly, the increase in TEU does not indicate that the company's revenue or profit has risen at the same rate; the type of cargo, service tariffs, transshipment rates, and costs are also decisive factors.
Nevertheless, the 14.6% growth indicates that the import, export, and transshipment traffic in the Marmara Region remains vibrant. In the results for the second half, European demand, Far East services, blank sailings, and developments on the Red Sea route will be influential.
