The 'Obsidian' got stuck shortly after midnight on Sep 27, 2018, while proceeding upstream on the river Scheldt on its way from New Orleans to Antwerp off Hansweert. The tanker was under way again within about one hour and anchored at Oude Doel for inspections. As they did not reveal any damage, the ship was cleared to dock. Possibly there was no bottom contact, but the ship encountered a shoaling effect, which kept it on one spot for about an hour.
