Tamer Kıran, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the İMEAK Chamber of Shipping, and his accompanying delegation attended the Council Meeting of the İMEAK DTO İzmir Branch following the Aliağa program, where they met with representatives of the sector.
The meeting, held on Thursday, September 17, 2026, was hosted by Argun Gündüç, the Chairman of the Council of the İMEAK DTO İzmir Branch, and Yusuf Öztürk, the Chairman of the Board of Directors.
During the meeting, Tamer Kıran, who met with the members of the İzmir Branch, provided evaluations regarding the activities carried out by the İMEAK Chamber of Shipping during his term, the development process of Turkish maritime, and the future of the sector.
Kıran stated that they have fulfilled their promise of being 'accessible' since taking office, emphasizing that despite the challenging global developments, they continue to work to find solutions to the problems faced by their members.
Highlighting that they conduct efforts to address the demands of all members without discrimination between sectors, Kıran also provided information about the vision and goals of the Chamber for the upcoming period.
In his remarks during the meeting, Recep Düzgit, the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the İMEAK DTO, evaluated the Chamber's new period goals, expectations, and the efforts aimed at the development of the sector.
İzmir visits continued.
Following the Council meeting, the İMEAK DTO delegation conducted various visits in İzmir.
Tamer Kıran and his accompanying delegation visited Mahmut Özgener, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the İzmir Chamber of Commerce (İZTO), and Bülent İbik, the Chairman of the Board of the Dokuz Eylul University Maritime Faculty Alumni Association (DEFMED).
During the visits, topics such as the development of the maritime sector, education, business collaborations, and the future of the sector were discussed.
The İMEAK DTO delegation included Board Members Burak Akartaş, Barış Dillioğlu, İsmail Görgün, Barış Türkmen, Deputy Chairman of the Council Emin Eminoğlu, and Council Members.
