"We are here in your presence as the newly elected members of the 11th Term Assembly and Board of Directors of the IMEAK Chamber of Shipping, representing the Istanbul and Marmara, Aegean, Mediterranean, and Black Sea Regions.

In the second century of our Republic, your greatest gift to the Turkish nation, we respectfully, gratefully, and with remembrance honor you and your comrades-in-arms who entrusted us with an independent and free homeland.

As representatives of the Turkish maritime sector, we take your directive, 'We must consider maritime affairs as the great national ideal of the Turk and achieve it in a short time,' as our guide in line with your goal of 'surpassing the level of contemporary civilizations,' which we proudly display at the entrance of our Chamber building. We continue to work with determination and resolve for our Turkey to be among the leading maritime countries in the 21st century.

We carry the historical responsibility of preserving our greatest work, the Republic, in the light of your principles and revolutions for eternity and passing it on strongly to future generations. We promise to fulfill this responsibility with determination and bow respectfully in your spiritual presence.

May your soul rest in peace."
