Seven vessels docked at Port Qasim to manage diverse cargoes, while additional ships are expected to arrive for loading and unloading.
Seven vessels berthed at Port Qasim on one day to load and discharge a range of cargoes, as reported by the Associated Press of Pakistan.
The ships, including Spirit of Bertram, Hansa Africa, Minamoto, Navision Vincentiz, Al-Soor-II, Joseph, and Venus-09, handled containers, sand, cement, rice, gas oil, and LPG at various terminals such as Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi-Purpose berths, FOTCO oil terminal, Engro Vopak terminal, and Sui Southern Gas terminal.
Additionally, five more ships—MSC Susanna, Floyen, Royal Chemist, Trimmu-3, and Benue—arrived at the outer anchorage the previous day, carrying containers, palm oil, LPG, and LNG.
A total of 11 ships were engaged at the berths, with Spirit of Bertram sailing on Thursday morning. Six vessels, including Trans Asia, Joseph, Navision Vincentiz, Fortuo, Unity Maria, and Hansa Africa, were scheduled to depart later that day.
In the past 24 hours, the cargo volume handled totaled 172,886 tonnes, comprising 118,372 tonnes of imports and 54,514 tonnes of exports. This included 5,248 containers, with 2,262 TEU imports and 2,986 TEU exports.
Thirteen ships remained at the outer anchorage, with six—MSC Susanna, Mohammad-M, Sea Ray, Ando Meda, Al-Diab-II, and Benue—expected to berth the following day to load and discharge containers, polymer bags, palm oil, rice, LPG, and LNG.
