The İMEAK DTO February Assembly addressed crucial maritime topics, featuring expert presentations and discussions on current sectoral evaluations.
The Istanbul and Marmara, Aegean, Mediterranean, and Black Sea Regions (İMEAK) Chamber of Shipping (DTO) held its February General Assembly Meeting on Thursday, February 26, 2026.
The meeting, chaired by Assembly President Başaran Bayrak, discussed the items on the agenda.
In his speech, Board Chairman Tamer Kıran provided current and sectoral evaluations.
The General Director of Maritime Affairs at the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure (UAB), Ünal Baylan, attended a portion of the assembly meeting.
During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Ragıp Kutay Karaca, Vice Rector of Istanbul Aydın University, delivered a presentation titled 'Change in the International System and Turkish Foreign Policy.'
Prof. Dr. Oral Erdoğan, Chairman of the Board of the Turkish Lloyd Foundation, also celebrated the foundation's 64th anniversary and provided information about its establishment. Erdoğan also answered questions from assembly members regarding economic developments.
The new Chairman of the Board of the Turkish Shipowners Employers Union (TAİS), Gönç Beyli, provided information about TAİS.
Tunç Taner, Business Development Manager at HAVELSAN, spoke about HAVELSAN's activities in the field of 'Digital Maritime.'
Şeref Can Özkaya, Group Leader of HAVELSAN Cybersecurity Directorate, and Seda Dalgıç, Audit and Compliance Team Manager, also provided information to our assembly members regarding 'Cybersecurity in the Maritime Sector.'
