Qatar Airways Cargo launches Pharma Passive FlexTemp for dual-temperature management in pharmaceutical shipments, enhancing shelf-life protection.
Qatar Airways Cargo has introduced a new service to manage dual-temperature requirements within a single shipment, aimed at improving shelf-life protection for pharmaceuticals, reports London's Air Cargo News.
The carrier stated that its Pharma Passive FlexTemp is the first solution designed to support temperature-sensitive shipments as their thermal needs change during transit, particularly when passive packaging reaches the end of its effective life cycle.
Qatar Cargo noted that many shipments begin within a defined range secured by passive packaging but later require a different transport temperature to preserve integrity. Until now, this transition phase has been largely unsupported across the air cargo industry.
The service is available as an add-on for Pharma Passive and Pharma Critical Passive products and can be booked via Qatar Cargo's Digital Lounge across all FlexTemp corridors in its network.
The airline previously partnered with Envirotainer in 2023 to offer a more sustainable solution for shipping temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals, reinforcing its focus on innovation in the pharma logistics sector.
