İSKİ's Şafak Başa reveals paving stones obstructing sewage channels in Esenyurt, raising concerns about infrastructure protection.

Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (İSKİ) General Manager Şafak Başa announced that the teams intervening in a blocked wastewater channel in the Örnek neighborhood of Esenyurt encountered paving stones. Başa stated, 'The purpose is clear; İSKİ should be left in a difficult situation.'

Following operations targeting the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB), which led to his detention and a house arrest sentence of 210 days, Başa was reinstated to his position on February 27. He made a notable statement regarding the situation in Esenyurt.

Başa reported that the water channels in Esenyurt, which is under trustee management, have been filled with paving stones.

In a post on his social media account, Başa expressed his reaction, saying, 'Location: Our Esenyurt District, Örnek Neighborhood. The scene our team encountered while intervening in the blocked wastewater channel… our inspection well has been filled with paving stones… The purpose is clear; İSKİ should be left in a difficult situation… Protecting our infrastructure is everyone's duty...'
