In the maritime disaster that occurred in the Sea of Marmara, one more crew member has been located. The lifeless body pulled from the sea by the Coast Guard teams off the coast of Silivri has been confirmed to be that of Yaşar Kayhan, the captain of the Tuğberk İmamoğlu ship.
According to the information obtained, a lifeless body was found in the sea around 13:15 yesterday. Upon notification, Coast Guard teams were dispatched to the area. The body retrieved from the water was brought to Silivri Port for examination.
Identification was made through forensic examination.
It was learned that due to the prolonged time spent in the water, the body had undergone damage and decomposition, which made it impossible to identify initially.
The lifeless body was sent to the Forensic Medicine Institution to determine the exact cause of death and identity. Following detailed examinations, it was established that the individual found was Yaşar Kayhan, the captain of the Tuğberk İmamoğlu ship.
Search operations were ongoing for 10 crew members.
