The Panama-flagged bulk carrier 'Vela Prime' suffered a mechanical failure while entering the Bosphorus, prompting a response from the Turkish Coast Guard.
In a statement made by the General Directorate of Coastal Safety, it was reported that the Panama-flagged bulk carrier 'Vela Prime', which was entering the Istanbul Strait from the north, experienced a machinery failure.
The statement indicated that the vessel, which was turned back northward off Büyükdere, was safely taken to the Kilyos Anchorage Area by the salvage tugboats Kurtarma-11 and Kurtarma-3.
After the completion of the salvage operations for the vessel, the ship traffic in the Istanbul Strait, which had been suspended in both directions due to the malfunction, was reopened in the south-north direction.
