Subsea7 has received a new order from TP-OTC for the Sakarya Gas Field project, enhancing Turkey's natural gas production capabilities.
Subsea7, a company operating in the field of offshore engineering and services, announced that it has received a new order from the Turkish Petroleum Offshore Technology Center (TP-OTC) as part of the Sakarya Gas Field development project being conducted offshore Turkey in the Black Sea.
This order is an extension of the contract announced by the company for the third phase of the Sakarya field in August 2025. The new work includes plans to connect the recently discovered Göktepe field to the Sakarya Phase 3 Floating Production Unit (FPU).
Working at a Water Depth of 2,200 Meters
The scope of work to be carried out within the project includes the following elements:
Approximately 20 kilometers of flexible pipeline.
120 kilometers of umbilical cable.
Rigid production riser.
Engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) of related subsea production equipment.
All these activities will be conducted at a water depth of 2,200 meters.
Project Management to be Conducted from Istanbul
The management and engineering activities of the project will be coordinated by Subsea7’s Istanbul office. Offshore operations are planned to commence in 2027 and 2028.
While the financial details of the contract have not been disclosed, it has been stated that the size of the agreement is estimated to be in the range of 300 million to 500 million dollars.

David Bertin, Senior Vice President of Subsea7’s Global Project Center for the Eastern Region, commented on the project, stating:
“We are proud to continue supporting TP-OTC’s objectives in the Black Sea. The development of the Göktepe field, in particular, will enhance production through the Sakarya Phase 3 facilities and contribute to meeting Turkey’s natural gas needs.”
The Sakarya Gas Field development project being conducted in the Black Sea is among the most significant energy projects aimed at strengthening Turkey’s energy supply security and increasing domestic natural gas production.
