IDO ferries became a top transport choice during the holiday, meeting increased demand on key routes like Sirkeci-Harem and Eskihisar-Topçular.
During the holiday period, İDO responded to the increased demand, particularly seeing significant interest in its car ferry routes such as Sirkeci-Harem and Eskihisar-Topçular.
The maritime route, which offers an economical and fast means of transportation, became one of the primary choices for Istanbul residents during the holiday. Istanbul Sea Buses (İDO) became an important option in maritime transportation by providing quick and effective solutions to the increased passenger demand during the holiday period.
In particular, a significant demand was observed on the important route connecting two continents, Sirkeci-Harem, while the Eskihisar-Topçular line, which connects the Gulf for all Marmara region residents, was preferred for its economic advantages and to avoid losing long hours in regional traffic.
There was a noticeable increase compared to previous periods during the holiday. To meet this high demand, İDO provided uninterrupted service to its passengers by increasing the number of trips and the capacity on specific routes.
Throughout the holiday, especially with the capacity increases on car ferry routes such as Sirkeci-Harem, Eskihisar-Topçular, Pendik-Yalova, and Yenikapı-Yalova, more passengers were reached, while the flexibility provided in vehicle transportation supported user satisfaction.
- On the Eskihisar-Topçular line during the Ramadan Bayram holiday, 130,000 passengers and 50,000 vehicles were transported.
- On the Sirkeci-Harem line, over 18,000 passengers and 13,000 vehicles were transported.
- On the car ferry routes such as Pendik-Yalova and Yenikapı-Yalova, 20,000 vehicles and 80,000 passengers were carried.
İDO transported the season's first passengers to Lesbos on March 19.
With the sea bus services, over 16,000 passengers were transported to holiday destinations such as Bursa, Bandırma, Armutlu, Avşa, Çınarcık, and Esenköy, allowing all holidaymakers to reunite with their loved ones through İDO. On the other hand, İDO also opened the Greek Islands season with the Ayvalık-Midilli line, carrying 257 passengers to Lesbos Island on its first trip, which commenced on the day before the holiday, March 19.
