Jiangsu Yangzi Xinfu Shipbuilding has successfully delivered the final vessel in a series of 12 LNG dual-fuel ships for Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), according to reports from Singapore's Manifold Times.
The last vessel, named MSC Saudi Arabia, was handed over on December 27 and set sail the same day. Construction commenced in December 2024, with the vessel entering dry dock in May 2025, launching in October, and completing sea trials in December.
A naming ceremony took place on December 18, followed by the signing of delivery documents on December 22 by CH Giuseppe Gargiulo, MSC's head of newbuilding for China, and Mr. Yang Xueyan of Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group.
This series is part of a broader collaboration between MSC and Yangzijiang, which has resulted in the completion of over 30 single and dual-fuel containership projects, including vessels with capacities of 12,200 TEU, 14,000 TEU, 16,000 TEU, and 24,000 TEU.
Yangzijiang has stated that these projects have bolstered its expertise in large-scale containership construction and enhanced its technological capabilities for green and intelligent vessels.
