On 28 August, COSCO SHIPPING Holdings released its 2026 interim report, highlighting strong performance amid a challenging global environment. Despite geopolitical risks, trade uncertainties, supply-demand fluctuations, and high fuel costs, the company achieved operating revenue of RMB 111.922 billion, up 2.59% year-on-year. EBIT reached RMB 19.626 billion, and net profit stood at RMB 15.7 billion, reflecting strong operational resilience and market leadership.

The container shipping business saw cargo volumes grow 7.52% year-on-year to 14.28 million TEUs, generating RMB 107.298 billion in revenue. Controlled terminals handled 16.89 million TEUs, marking a 2.5% increase, with throughput revenue rising 8.3% to RMB 6.327 billion. The company also maintained solid financial health, with net cash inflows of RMB 23.33 billion and an asset-liability ratio of 41.01%.

COSCO SHIPPING Holdings focused on global network optimization during the first half of 2026, launching new routes like the Chancay CHX3 service and the Southeast Asia-South Asia SIS2 route, while enhancing connectivity across Latin America, Southeast Asia, and Africa. The company also upgraded its China-Europe Land-Sea Express and Middle East logistics capabilities, reinforcing supply chain resilience and reliability.

To adapt to evolving market dynamics, COSCO SHIPPING expanded its fleet to 606 vessels with a capacity of 3.66 million TEUs, including 70 new-energy-powered vessels. This strategic expansion supports fleet modernization and enhances the company's competitive edge in global trade routes. In addition, COSCO SHIPPING is scaling end-to-end logistics solutions with tailored services for key sectors like automotive, wind energy, and e-commerce, driving an 11.61% increase in supply chain revenue.

The company continues to lead in digital transformation with advanced tools like the AI-powered 'Intelligent Supply Chain Steward' and blockchain-based electronic bills of lading, improving operational efficiency and customer service. On the green front, COSCO SHIPPING is expanding low-carbon logistics products to meet growing customer demand for sustainable solutions.

Looking ahead, COSCO SHIPPING aims to strengthen its global service capabilities while embracing innovation in digital intelligence and green logistics. By focusing on customer needs and supply chain resilience, the company remains committed to delivering high-quality, reliable services and sustained value to stakeholders.
