Celebrating more than 45 years of events, the International Marine Purchasing Association (IMPA) has grown into one of the leading global associations for maritime supply chain development and innovation. Marketing in Maritime is a specialist learning and networking community dedicated to elevating marketing into a strategic and commercially influential force within the industry
Both organisations exist to foster collaboration in maritime and to serve as an industry voice for their members. Together, they now advance a shared ambition to help maritime professionals and businesses achieve stronger outcomes.
IMPA London 2026 marks the formal launch of the partnership this week. The Marketing in Maritime team is on site greeting exhibitors and visitors alike, beginning the work of shaping the partnership programme offering. The launch provides members of both organisations with an opportunity to share their ambitions, challenges and ideas as the programme takes form.
As part of the launch, Marketing in Maritime has invited its MiMbers to attend the two-day exhibition and the networking cocktail reception as IMPA London guests, free of charge.
With an estimated 20 to 30 percent of B2B marketing budgets dedicated to events, the partnership addresses a clear commercial priority: ensuring that organizations participating at IMPA fully benefit from their on-site presence and secure a strong return on investment.
Procurement and marketing teams often face similar challenges. Both play critical roles in driving business performance, yet neither always receives the visibility associated with customer-facing functions. By combining their expertise and communities, IMPA Events and Marketing in Maritime aim to deliver greater value for exhibitors, delegates and members, while helping organisations turn stronger industry connections into measurable commercial results.
Beyond its commercial strengths, Marketing in Maritime will introduce dedicated training and resources for IMPA delegates. The team will also open its growing #MiMCrowd network to new connections, extending fresh networking opportunities across both communities.
Paul Skinner, Commercial and Content Manager at the International Marine Purchasing Association, said: "We are very excited to form this partnership with MiM, and we look forward to working together to help their members understand how collaborating with one of the industry's leading associations can extend their reach across the maritime sector both via our events and publications.
"IMPA members will benefit greatly from being part of the vibrant MiM community, giving them the opportunity to network, share knowledge, and draw on the experience and expertise of other like-minded maritime marketers. This partnership brings two influential communities together, creating new pathways for learning, collaboration, and industry advancement."
Kae-Ley Brann, MiM Business Manager, said: "IMPA has built one of the maritime industry's most respected event portfolios and community networks. By combining that reach with Marketing in Maritime's expertise and growing community of maritime marketers, we have an opportunity to help businesses generate greater value from their event participation, strengthen industry connections, and raise the profile of marketing as a driver of commercial growth. We're excited to hear directly from delegates and exhibitors as we shape the next phase of the partnership together."
The alliance formalized at IMPA London 2026 is more than a single event collaboration. It positions two of Maritimes most engaged communities to advance learning, collaboration and commercial growth across the sector for years to come.
