Hactl has signed a 15-year extension for its handling franchise at HK International Airport, enhancing its commitment to the air cargo industry.
Hong Kong cargo handler Hactl has signed a 15-year extension of its handling franchise at Hong Kong International Airport, running from July 2028 through 2043, reported London's Air Cargo News.
The deal was signed with the Airport Authority of Hong Kong following the addition of a third runway, which has boosted cargo operations at the world's busiest hub. The extension is expected to prompt further investment by Hactl.
Hactl chief executive Frosti Lau stated that the agreement underscores the company's commitment to Hong Kong and its global outlook, while reaffirming long-term support for the city's air cargo industry.
Mr. Lau mentioned that at least HKD1 billion will be invested in modernizing infrastructure, deploying new technologies, and embedding ESG principles across operations. He added that the completion of the Three-Runway System and government backing provided confidence in the future of the industry.
He emphasized that Hactl would continue to leverage innovation and sustainability to align with Hong Kong's positioning as an international aviation hub under the National 15th Five-Year Plan, reinforcing air cargo as a vital pillar of economic development.
