Energy Petrol secured third place in Istanbul's bunker supply, selling 265,000 metric tons in 2025, serving 1,835 vessels.
The respected publication Ship & Bunker has released bunker fuel sales data for the Port of Istanbul for the year 2025. According to the report, Energy Petrol finished the year as the third largest physical supplier in terms of bunker fuel volume sold.
Energy Petrol achieved sales of 265,000 metric tons of bunker fuel throughout 2025, ranking third among seven physical bunker suppliers operating in the Port of Istanbul. During this period, the company supplied fuel to 1,835 vessels.
Mustafa Muhtaroğlu, Founder of Energy Petrol, emphasized that operations were conducted uninterrupted throughout the year, with physical supply activities carried out using the company's own bunker barges. He highlighted that operational control and service quality are the primary concerns for the company.
Established in 1997, Energy Petrol operates with nine fuel supply barges in the Istanbul region. Muhtaroğlu also serves as the President of the Turkish Bunker Association and is a member of the Board of Directors of the International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA).
The data published by Ship & Bunker indicates that Istanbul maintains its strategic position on the transit route of the Eastern Mediterranean and the Black Sea, with high competition among physical bunker suppliers in 2025.
