Dense fog, which intensified in the early hours of the morning in Istanbul, affected both land and sea transportation. Particularly around the Bosphorus and Üsküdar, visibility dropped to just a few meters in some areas. As a result, the Bosphorus Line was closed to ship traffic.
The fog, which became evident in the morning hours, was particularly impactful in the Bosphorus, significantly reducing visibility.
In addition to being prevalent in high areas, the fog was also observed along the strait. Due to the fog, the Sirkeci-Harem car ferry service was canceled, while it was reported that the City Lines service remained operational.
The fog, which did not cause cancellations in urban sea transportation except for the Sirkeci-Harem service, obstructed international maritime traffic.
Coast Guard officials reported that the Bosphorus line was temporarily closed to traffic due to limited visibility.
