China's Ministry of Commerce criticizes the US for labeling certain firms as military companies, urging a return to constructive relations.
China's Ministry of Commerce said it strongly deplores and firmly opposes the US Department of Defense's move to list certain Chinese firms as 'military companies,' reports Xinhua.
The ministry stated that Washington ignored the consensus reached at the Beijing summit between the two heads of state, disregarded bilateral economic and trade interests, and abused state power to suppress Chinese enterprises.
The spokesperson added that the US action has disrupted the international economic and trade order, undermined global supply chain stability, and harmed the legitimate rights of Chinese firms.
China urged the US to revoke the measures, return to constructive relations, and provide fair and non-discriminatory treatment to Chinese companies.
The ministry warned that China will take resolute countermeasures if the US persists, with all consequences and responsibilities borne by Washington.
