Challenge Group adds two Boeing 777-200ERs to enhance its freighter conversion program and support long-term growth strategy.
Challenge Group has acquired two additional Boeing 777-200ER aircraft to support its freighter conversion programme, reported London's Air Cargo News.
Airline executive Markus Fischer stated that the acquisitions mark another step in executing the Group's long-term freighter growth strategy. He added that the 777 remains a core pillar of the future fleet, aimed at building scale and resilience.
Challenge Group recently placed its first Boeing 777-200 passenger-to-freighter conversion into service. The company launched its 777-200ERSF programme in May 2025 in partnership with Israel Aerospace Industries.
The Group could eventually operate more than 10 777-200ERSFs. Initial plans allowed for four conversions with options for four more, while a January 2025 deal with lessor AerCap added two converted freighters.
In October 2025, Challenge signed an ACMI agreement with Kalitta Air for the operation of a 777-200ERSF. The Group aims to expand its fleet to 20 aircraft by the end of the decade.
