Bulkcarrier sank barge off Vung Tau

The "IVS Nightjar" was in collision with the Vietnamese barge "BV 1305" on Sep 30, 2017, at 01.50 a.m. off Vung Tau, while en route from Phy-My-Vung Tau, where she had sailed on Sep 29 at 8.30 p.m. The barge sank, all eight people on board were rescued by an SAR boat. As the barge sank within or near the fairway, she was obstructing ship traffic and has to be removed. The bulkcarrier dropped anchor on Vung Tau roads after the accident.
