    The Mozambique-flagged tanker Boston Beacon suffered a generator failure in the Dardanelles Strait and was safely towed by rescue tugs.

    The tanker flying the flag of Mozambique that malfunctioned in the Dardanelles Strait was taken to a safe area by tugboats.

    The 274-meter-long tanker named 'Boston Beacon,' flying the flag of Mozambique, experienced a generator malfunction while transiting the Dardanelles Strait. Upon the ship captain reporting the situation via radio to the Dardanelles Strait Vessel Traffic Services Center, the Coast Guard General Directorate dispatched the tugboats 'Kurtarma-10' and 'Kurtarma-13' to the area.

    The malfunctioning tanker was towed to the Şevketiye Anchorage with the assistance of the tugboats. Other vessels transiting the strait were also informed about the malfunction.

    The Boston Beacon, which was en route from Egypt to Russia, encountered a generator issue off Akbaş and will be taken to a safe area for anchoring.
