Nikolai Svechnikov, a Russian swimmer who participated in the 37th Bosphorus Intercontinental Swimming Race organized by the Turkish National Olympic Committee (TMOK) this year, had gone missing in the Istanbul Strait. When cleaning teams working in the sea off Beşiktaş Kuruçeşme spotted the male body, they reported the situation to the police. Following the notification, teams from the Maritime Port Authority retrieved the body from the sea.
