Tersan Shipyard launches Acta Hercules, a cutting-edge CSOV for Acta Marine, enhancing offshore capabilities and sustainability.
Tersan Shipyard, located in Yalova, has delivered the second vessel of the Walk-to-Work (W2W) and DP2 equipped Service Operation Vessel (CSOV) series, Acta Hercules, built for Acta Marine.
Following the delivery of Acta Pegasus in December 2025, Acta Hercules joins the fleet, standing out with its enhanced offshore operational capabilities and sustainability-focused design. The vessel, constructed at the facilities in Yalova, offers accommodation for up to 135 people and is equipped with advanced access and lifting systems that play a critical role in offshore projects. The ship features a personnel transfer platform with three-dimensional motion stabilization capabilities provided by SMST, as well as crane systems with three-dimensional motion capabilities.
Developed in line with sustainability goals, Acta Hercules supports the transition to low-emission operations with its infrastructure ready for methanol use. The vessel aims to reduce environmental impact with dual-fuel main engines that can operate on diesel (MGO) or a mixture of MGO and methanol, along with a high-capacity battery system.
On the design side, the vessel bears the signature of Ulstein. The twin X-STERN hull structure located at both the bow and stern enhances operational efficiency in challenging sea conditions, while its high DP performance elevates its maneuverability in the field. Additionally, the W2W platform is equipped with a crane capable of lifting 6 tons and a motion compensation system that ensures safe personnel transfer in wave heights of up to 3 meters, reinforcing the operational strength of the vessel.
Crew comfort is also among the prominent features of the ship. Acta Hercules offers high living standards in a total of 88 cabins and is equipped with a gym, sauna, multifunctional social areas, and smart connectivity systems.
Mehmet Gazioğlu, CEO of Tersan Shipyard, emphasized in his evaluation of the delivery that this second delivery following Acta Pegasus showcases the strong collaboration between the two companies and the shipyard's capability to construct complex offshore vessels. Gazioğlu also expressed their satisfaction in contributing to Europe's energy transition.
Rob Boer, CEO of Acta Marine, stated that the delivery of Acta Hercules is an important step in the expansion of the next-generation fleet, reiterating their goals to provide high-quality and reliable services to the offshore wind sector. Boer thanked all stakeholders involved in the project and expressed their expectation for the continuation of the series with Acta Gemini and Acta Aquarius to join the fleet according to the planned schedule.
