Miklagard-S has launched RF MAR, the sixth vessel in its chemical tanker series, at Wuhu Shipyard, China, with a capacity of 7,500 cubic meters.
The stainless steel chemical tanker named RF MAR, to be operated by the Turkish-Norwegian capital company Miklagard-S, has been launched at the Wuhu Shipyard in China. The vessel is the sixth unit in the series classified as approximately 6,600 DWT under the new construction program.
Wuhu Shipyard announced that RF MAR was successfully launched on July 24 from Dock No. 4. Miklagard-S also announced that the vessel is the sixth stainless steel tanker in the new construction program. While shipyard sources define the series as 6,600 DWT, the company announcement describes it as 6,700 DWT.
RF MAR is designed as an IMO II chemical and product tanker with a length of 113.6 meters. The vessel will feature a total of 12 independent stainless steel cargo tanks with a capacity of 7,500 cubic meters. The ship is planned to fly the flag of a European Union member country, allowing for the transportation of various chemical products in separated tanks.
Miklagard-S was established in 2019 as a result of the collaboration between the Istanbul-based SNR Group and the Oslo-based RFOcean. While the technical and personnel management of the company is conducted from Turkey, the new construction program is expanding the RFOcean fleet.
The project information published in 2025 anticipated that RF MAR would be delivered in June 2026. The current announcement only indicates that the launching phase has been completed. The vessel will not be considered delivered until the outfitting, port and sea trials, and class processes are completed; the new delivery date has not yet been announced.
