A total of 44,468 vessels passed through the Dardanelles Strait in 2025. The total gross tonnage of these vessels was recorded as 966 million 23 thousand 610.
When looking at the typology of the vessels that transited, 13,870 general cargo ships ranked first, while bulk carriers (8,066) and container ships (6,668) formed the main backbone of the traffic.
Additionally, throughout the year, 54 warships and 559 passenger ships passed through the strait.
The year 2025 was also active for tourism in the Çanakkale region. Among the 2.1 million cruise passengers hosted across Turkey, the region received a significant share:
Çanakkale: Hosted 41 cruise ships with 27,424 passengers.
Bozcaada: Welcomed 12 cruise ships, accommodating 5,960 transit passengers.
