38 professional divers removed 5 tons of waste from Kaleiçi Marina in a coastal cleanup led by Antalya Metropolitan Municipality.
Under the leadership of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, approximately 5 tons of waste was removed from the sea during the second phase of the coastal cleaning event held at Kaleiçi Marina, with the participation of 38 professional divers.
As part of the 'Antalya Marine Waste Action Plan' (DÇEP) organized by Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, a coastal cleaning event was held at Kaleiçi Marina to draw attention to marine and coastal pollution. In the second phase of the event, 38 professional divers descended underwater to bring to light the accumulated waste on the seabed.
WASTE WAS TRANSPORTED TO SHORE WITH THE HELP OF A CRANE SERVICE BOAT
The event, carried out in collaboration with the Antalya Konyaaltı Underwater Sports Club (ANTSAK) and the Mediterranean Dolphin Diving Club, involved divers who hold a 3-star and instructor level badge from the Turkish Underwater Sports Federation.
The waste retrieved from underwater by the divers was transported to shore with the assistance of a crane service boat.
Through the cleaning efforts, approximately 5 tons of waste were removed from Kaleiçi Marina, contributing to the protection of the marine ecosystem.
