SINGAPORE's APL has added port calls in Guayaquil, Ecuador and Ensenada, Mexico to its Condor Express (CDX) service to transport fruits and other perishable goods to and from Asia, starting from January 23.
The revamped CDX service offers competitive transit times and is equipped with reefer plugs to tap the thriving fresh fruit trade between Latin America and Asia, particularly China and Japan.
Transit time from Guayaquil to Yokohama is 26 days. Cargo from Ensenada to Yokohama, Busan and China will take 13, 16 and 21 days respectively to arrive, the ocean liner said.
The CDX port rotation is: Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Shekou, Ningbo, Shanghai, Busan, Manzanillo, Lazaro Cardenas, Buenaventura, Callao, Guayaquil, Lazaro Cardenas, Manzanillo, Ensenada, Yokohama, Busan, returning to Kaohsiung.
