AHEAD of Valentine's Day, american Airlines Cargo moved over 1.2 million pounds of flowers, reports Mumbai's Stat Trade Times.
These blooms were predominantly sourced from Europe and Latin America between February 1 and 10, bound for destinations worldwide.
This effort ensures that the seasonal flowers are delivered fresh and in time for the celebrations, according to an official statement.
'Out of Europe, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol remained the top origin for flowers this year with tulips being the most common type. During the 10-day peak, the cargo carrier moved fresh flowers from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol to London Heathrow via truck where they then traveled on American's extensive widebody network to the US,' said an official release.
'Top destinations for these Dutch blooms include Boston Logan International Airport, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, John F Kennedy International Airport, Los Angeles International Airport, Miami International Airport, and Chicago O'Hare International Airport.'
