THE Airline Fuel Cost and Consumption data web page has been updated by the US Department of Transportation's Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS), after including preliminary October data.

The cost per gallon for US airlines' scheduled services are as follows: October 2018 was at $2.35, September 2019 was at $1.96, and October stands at $1.97.

This web page provides scheduled service cost and consumption numbers. Users can go to the 'Select a Service' dropdown menu to find all services or non-scheduled services, reported AJOT.

The Fuel Cost and Consumption web page address is: http://www.transtats.bts.gov/fuel.asp, where summaries by month are also available.

Preliminary fuel cost and consumption numbers are industry summaries only. Airline fuel costs may be affected by hedging, contracts that allow airlines to limit exposure to future changes in fuel prices. The next monthly web update is scheduled for January 7.
