WILMINGTON's Air Transport Services Group (ATSG) chief operating officer Richard Corrado has become the first president of the firm starting yesterday (September 16).
Company chairman Randy Rademacher said the creation of the president role is a key step in management succession for the Ohio-based company, which went public in 2003.
Joe Hete has been president, CEO and a director of ATSG since then.
The new position will allow Mr Hete to focus on strategic planning and management team development, while Mr Corrado will be responsible for goal-setting and oversight of all businesses.
Mr Corrado has worked on ATSG's business model, which is now an industry standard, since 2010. He became COO in 2017 following seven years as chief commercial officer and president of ATSG's Cargo Aircraft Management Inc.
