NANJING Customs has confirmed the successful launch of an air cargo route connecting the eastern Chinese city of Nanjing to Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, reports Xinhua.
The inaugural flight transported a cargo plane carrying 17.6 tons of textiles.
This marks the first time Nanjing has established an air route to South Asia, with scheduled operations set for every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
It is anticipated that the annual freight volume on this route will exceed 2,800 tons.
'The surrounding areas of Nanjing have a large-scale textile industry with a complete supply chain. The textiles produced here are popular among international customers, and the newly opened air cargo route will offer local enterprises enhanced accessibility for exporting their goods,' said international logistics company staffer Bi Hengfen.
