Work on the park, which will provide 175,000 square metres of efficient, warehousing, started with a sod turning ceremony on the 29 hectares site on the Maputo Ring Road in Marracuene in the presence Raimundo Maico Diomba, Governor of Maputo Province.
The park is part of an international standard warehouse park network that Agility is funding and developing across key markets in Africa to support the development of domestic and regional trade.
Said Agility Africa CEO Geoffrey White: 'We believe that the provision of international standard warehouses in Africa for storage, distribution and light manufacturing is one of the fundamental building blocks necessary for economic growth.'
The first phase of this significant investment in Mozambique will provide 32,000 square metres of warehousing and will be operational in the second quarter of 2019.
Agility is one of the world's leading providers of integrated logistics. It is a publicly traded company with more than US$4.8 billion in revenue and more than 22,000 employees in over 500 offices across 100 countries.
