IN November, the Port of adelaide experienced a year-on-year decline in container throughput, as indicated by the latest statistics from Flinders Ports, reports Australia's Daily Cargo News.
The total full container throughput for November reached 20,895 TEU, marking a 9.6 per cent decrease compared to the same month in the previous year.
Notably, this figure represented a substantial 27 per cent drop from the container throughput recorded in October 2023.
Year on year, total containerised imports in November exhibited a decline.
The port handled 10,849 TEU of full containers during the month, reflecting a 13 per cent decrease compared to November of the previous year.
Meanwhile, full container export volumes in November 2023 showed a slight decrease compared to the same period in 2022.
The port managed 10,046 TEU, indicating a five per cent decrease year on year.
The Port of Adelaide experienced 20 fully cellular containership visits in November, two fewer than the corresponding month in the previous year.
Notably, the port processed fewer empty containers in November 2023 compared to both the preceding month and the same month in the previous year.
With a total of 6,024 TEU of empties passing through the port, there was a decrease from the 6,744 TEU recorded in November of the previous year.
