HONG KONG's Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL), a Cosco unit, has to welcomed its recently named 24,188-TEU OOCL Turkiye into its containership fleet at the Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering (NACKS) shipyard ceremony.
The OOCL Turkiye is the third 24,188-TEU vessel to be received by OOCL in a series of 12, reported Hellenic Shipping News Worldwide.
The ship was welcomed by distinguished guests, OOCL partners and customers, and named by SaiLun Group tyre maker chairwoman Jane Liu.
Being a part of OOCL's plan in the Asia-Europe trade, OOCL Turkiye will join sister vessels OOCL Spain and OOCL Piraeus in serving OOCL's Asia-Europe LL3 service loop.
Said OOCL network planning and procurement chief Chen Shuai: 'This vessel has adopted the latest green design and is equipped with advanced smart systems which can optimise its operational efficiency and reduce carbon emissions, meeting the requirements of customers and society for energy saving and carbon reduction nowadays.'
