FRENCH groundhandling giant Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) has won five-year contract with Air France KLM Martinair Cargo at Brussels Airport, reports London's Air Cargo News.
WFS will carry out handling services at its new facility at the airport. These services include cargo, mail, and truck handling, which equates to 30,000 tonnes annually.
The new US$117 million cargo handling facility, Building 835, will incorporate 3,000 square metres of cooling facilities for pharma and perishables shipments.
It also features a covered airside staging area and outside container storage. It will be equipped with full CCTV coverage, x-ray and other security technologies.
The building will be WFS' second new cargo terminal at Brussels Airport within two years. In February 2019, the company began operations at Building 832.
Building 832 is a 9,400-square metre freight centre for fast and efficient cargo handling, as well as specialist trucking and forwarding activities.
'We are proud that Air France KLM Martinair Cargo are extending their partnership with WFS in Europe as we continue to invest in our presence at Brussels Airport,' said WFS vice president Marc Claesen.
