GROUNNDLER Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) has been awarded Authorised Receiver status by Italy's customs authority at Milan Malpensa Airport, reports London's Air Cargo News.
WFS said the approval allows freight forwarders to clear and offload cargo at is cargo hub at the airport, thereby saving time and helping to improve productivity.
Said WFS country manager Massimiliano Introini: 'We are honoured to have received Authorised Receiver status, which reflects our ability to meet all of the strict requirements of the customs authority. WFS is continuing to grow its services at Milan-Malpensa and will continue to look for these types of opportunities which benefit both our airline clients and their freight forwarding customers.'
The company opened an 8,800 square metre cargo terminal in Milan in 2018, which can handle up to 47,000 tonnes per year and has specialised facilities for pharma shipments.
The groundhandler's airline custombers at Milan include American Airlines, Asiana Airlines, Air Europa, China Eastern, China Cargo, Air Serbia, Ukraine International and BlueAir.
