WAN Hai Lines held a naming ceremony for two new eco-friendly 13,100-TEU containerships, reports Rotterdam's Offshore Energy.
The ceremony occurred on October 20 at Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) Geoje shipyard.
wan HAI A07 and WAN HAI A08 are the first two vessels in the series of 13,100-TEU ships built at SHI's shipyard.
The ships are designed with a length of 335 metres, a breadth of 51 metres, a draft of 16 metres, and a maximum cruising speed of 22 knots.
The ships have fully balanced twisted bulb rudders, a pre-swirl fin, and alternative maritime power (AMP) system.
All the ships are certified with Smart Ship notations and meet the highest requirement for Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) for phase III in advance.
These new vessels are part of the company's efforts of fleet upgrades to provide quality service.
