In response to the ongoing threats posed by Houthi attacks on commercial vessels, the British government announced its decision to deploy the HMS Diamond warship to the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, relieving the HMS Richmond of its duties in defending shipping in the region.
'Britain continues to be at the forefront of the international response to the Houthis' dangerous attacks on commercial vessels, which have claimed the lives of international mariners,' said Mr Shapps.
