TAIWANESE carrier ts Lines has added to its five-strong orderbook in a new deal with a Chinese shipyard in Guangzhou, reports Singapore's Splash 247.
The boxship owner and operator has returned to Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding for a pair of 4,300-TEU newbuilds, each priced at about US$60 million and scheduled for delivery in 2027.
The 21st largest liner, founded in 2001, had ordered at Huangpu Wenchong in the past with 1,900-TEU and 2,700-TEU series already delivered and has newbuilds coming from Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS) comprising two methanol dual-fuelled 14,000 TEU ships and two 7,092-TEU vessels.
The latest series will see TS Lines' owned fleet grow to 50 vessels on a fully delivered basis and around 168,000 slots.
