THE US$8 billion project Keystone pipeline running 1,179 miles (1,897 kilometres) from Alberta to Nebraska has been approved by President Donald Trump ending an eight-year delay, reports Bloomberg.
The move reverses former President Barack Obama's decision to stop the project. After taking office, President Trump invited the TransCanada Pipeline's to reapply for a permit.
"This is a significant milestone for the Keystone XL project," said TransCanada CEO Russ Girling. "We greatly appreciate President Trump's Administration for reviewing and approving this important initiative."
