THE Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) has announced that a new consolidated monthly billing arrangement for ship registration and crew-related services for owners, managers and agents of Singapore-registered vessels will come into effect on October 1.
Under the new billing arrangement, the transactions of owners, managers and agents will continue to be billed to their designated accounts. But instead of receiving multiple bills, all transactions in any month will be consolidated into a single invoice at the start of the following month, according to Shipping Circular No 15.
The MPA said the new initiative aims to improve administrative convenience for its customers by streamlining the billing process to eliminate multiple invoices and payments each month.
