AUSTRALIA'S Port Authority of New South Wales is to raise all statutory and miscellaneous charges by 4.71 per cent in Sydney Harbour, Port Botany, Port Kembla, Eden and Yamba.
The higher fees will be applicable to all vessels calling at these ports, starting from January 1, 2016.
However, the wharfage and the passenger based site occupation charge in Sydney Harbour will not be increased, according to GAC Australia.
The decision comes after the port authority conducted a price review over the last few months of its main statutory port charges, following the successful amalgamation on July 1, 2014 of the residual state-owned components of the three main ports: Sydney, Newcastle and Port Kembla. Until then, each port had adopted its own pricing strategy.
