On Aug 9, 2018, around 6 p.m. when the Naxos Jet entered the port of Rafina there was a void of passengers. The ship had left Naxos shortly after 3 p.m. without passengers but did not start the route Paros - Mykonos - Tinos - Andros - Rafina as scheduled. In the morning hours the Port Authority of Naxos was informed by the captain that it was planned to operate the approved route Paros-Mykonos-Tinos-Andros and Rafinas with 156 passengers, 19 vehicles and three bikes. Upon an inspection by officers of the Port Authority concerned, work was carried out on the ship's starboard main engine without prior notification. Filters were being changed. The port authority of Naxos thereupon detained the ship untilthe presentation of a certificate by the classification society. A reconsideration was carried out by the Port Authority of Naxos, while the passengers who were going to travel were forwarded to their destination by other means of the company.
