SEAGO Line, the intra-Europe arm of APM-Maersk, has assumed control of the intra-Mediterranean and Adriatic services that were previously operated by Maersk Line.

Seago will provide four loops to link ports in the Adriatic region to the eastern Mediterranean sector, through slot arrangements on four existing MSC services.

The services affected are, according to Alphaliner, Adriatic Sea A (Israel) - Koper, Trieste, Venice, Ravenna, Haifa, Ashdod, Koper.

The Adriatic Sea B (Aegean) - Trieste, Koper, Ravenna, Venice, Piraeus, Izmir, Gemlik, Istanbul, Piraeus and back to Trieste.

The Adriatic Sea C (Egypt) - Ravenna, Trieste, Venice, Koper, Gioia Tauro, Alexandria and back to Ravenna.

The Adriatic Sea D (Near East) - Venice, Ancona, Ravenna, Piraeus, Limassol, Alexandria, Beirut, Lattakia, Izmir, Piraeus and back to Venice.

The report said the new services will replace the Maersk Line-Adriatic-Levant Express (ALEX) service that called at Ashdod, Alexandria, Koper, Trieste, Ravenna, Piraeus and Limassol, using two 1,000-TEU vessels.

The direct link between Piraeus and Limassol currently offered by the ALEX service will be transferred to a new Seago service, which will be launched as a separate service, the report said.
